First series, 19131948
In this series, the page size of the magazine was about 9.5 inches
high by 6 inches wide and the list of contents was printed on the
front cover.
Notes:
- Clicking on each year below displays the contents
pages of all the issues of that year in one file.
- The files of The Islamic Review issues below are usually
between 2MB and 3MB in size. A few files may be larger than this.
In four cases we have split one issue into two files to keep the
file-size down.
- The First Series is complete except for a few issues
that were not available to us so far (for example, July, September
and November 1913). Also, within some of the available issues,
one or two pages are missing. We have indicated this, as far as
possible, by inserting blank pages in their place, bearing the
text: Missing page or pages.
New large-format
series, 19491971
From 1949 The Islamic Review appeared as a large size magazine,
11.5 inches high by 9 inches wide, on glossy paper. From the September
1967 issue the title was modified to The Islamic Review and Arab
Affairs.
Each link below marked Contents opens a file consisting
of all the contents pages of the issues of that year.
Regarding the monthly issues accessible below, please note:
- The sizes of these files are large, between 6 and 12 MB. When
you click on a link to view a file in your Acrobat Reader, it
may take several minutes before the entire file appears. If you
have problems, we advise that instead of opening a link
you save it. This is done by right-clicking on the
link and selecting to save the file at a location on your
PC. After the entire file has been saved on your PC, you can open
it by going to the folder where you saved it.
- The centre pages of these issues were usually a double-page
spread. In the files below, these appear as two separate pages:
the left half followed by the right half of the centre spread.
- As in case of the First Series above, some issues are missing
from this series.
